Mit Ferrari 312 wurden von 1966, als die Formel-1-Regeln geändert wurden, bis 1980 jene Ferrari-Rennwagen bezeichnet, die 3 Liter Hubraum und einen 12-Zylinder-Motor hatten.

1970 wurde der V-Motor-Winkel von 60° auf 180° vergrößert, um einen niedrigeren Schwerpunkt zu erzielen. Diese Variante wurde mit „B“ bezeichnet, es handelte sich dabei jedoch nicht um einen echten Boxermotor.

Ferrari 312T3 1978 und 1979, neue Karosserieform und neues Monocoque
Ferrari 312T4 1979, erstmals mit Ground-Effekt, WM-Titel für Jody Scheckter
Ferrari 312T5 1980, erfolglos, da der breite Flachmotor die Aerodynamik störte; durch schmalen 1,5 l-V6-Turbo ersetzt (Ferrari 126C)

Ab 1969 wurden auch Sportwagen der Prototypenklasse („P“) mit dem jeweils aktuellen F1-Motor ausgestattet:
