Die Providence Bruins sind ein US-amerikanischer Eishockeyclub in Providence, Rhode Island, der in der American Hockey League (AHL) spielt.

Geschichte

1992 zogen die Maine Mariners aus Portland, Maine, nach Providence und wurden zu den Providence Bruins. Die Mannschaft ist eng mit den Boston Bruins (NHL), denen sie als Farmteam dienen, verbunden. 2005 feierten sie ihr 3000. Spiel.

Ihren größten Erfolg feierten die Providence Bruins in der Saison 1998/99. Nach der beeindruckenden Zahl von 56 Siegen und 120 Punkten gewannen sie unter Peter Laviolette, in dessen erster Saison in der zweithöchsten Spielklasse, den Calder Cup.
