Bayle begleitete James Cook auf seiner zweiten Reise in den Süden auf der HMS Adventure und bestimmte zusammen mit William Wales mit Hilfe Chronometers K1 von Larcum Kendall die geografische Länge des Queen Charlotte Sound.
