Leben

Potzern trat als Bühnenschauspieler am Ernst Deutsch Theater in Hamburg<ref>Marilen Andrist: Wir treten auf!: Ernst Deutsch Theater, Dölling & Galitz 2001, S. 142</ref> sowie an der Niederdeutschen Bühne Flensburg auf, wo er als Regisseur Aufführungen auch selbst inszenierte.<ref>Deutsches Bühnen-Jahrbuch, Genossenschaft Deutscher Bühnen-Angehöriger (Hrsg.), F.A. Einem breiten überregionalen Publikum ist Potzern aber vor allem durch seine Stimme bekannt. Er sprach für verschiedene Kinder- und Jugendhörspiele bekannter Labels wie EUROPA, Karussell und Ravensburger. In der Karussell-Adaption von Albert Uderzos und René Goscinnys Asterix übernahm Potzern den Part des Druiden Miraculix, in der Lucky-Luke-Reihe desselben Labels war er als Jack Dalton zu hören, und in Hans Joachim Herwalds Vertonung von Akif Pirinçcis Katzenkrimi Felidae sprach er Jesaja. Besonders populär war er als grüne Walze Rollo in den Geschichten mit und um Bob, den Baumeister. Potzern sprach die Figur im Hörspiel und der deutschen Synchronfassung der Fernsehserie von Beginn der deutschen Ausstrahlung 2001 bis zu seinem Tod 2007. Seither ist Bertram Hiese als Rollo zu hören. Darüber hinaus synchronisierte Potzern auch Schauspieler wie Ice-T in Ticker und Luke Wilson in Soul Survivors.
