Kandidaten

John Jay stellte sich als Föderalist zu Wiederwahl für das Amt des Gouverneurs von New York an. Sein Gegenkandidat war Robert R. Livingston von der Demokratisch-Republikanischen Partei. Beide traten jeweils mit Stephen Van Rensselaer als Vizegouverneurskandidat an.
