}} Give the People What They Want ist das neunzehnte Studioalbum der britischen Rockgruppe The Kinks. Es wurde aufgenommen in der Zeit von Mai 1979 bis Juni 1981 und im August 1981 in England veröffentlicht, in Europa jedoch erst im Januar 1982.

Die Erstveröffentlichung des Albums in Großbritannien verzögerte sich, da Leadsänger Ray Davies ein komplettes Video zum Album produzieren wollte, die Finanzierung jedoch scheiterte. Auch Pläne, das Album für den europäischen Markt neu abzumischen, wurden verworfen. Es sollte ursprünglich ein Statement gegenüber den Medien sein. Bei der Neuauflage des Albums auf CD mit den restlichen sechs Arista-Studioalben der Kinks war Give the People What They Want das einzige, das keine Bonustracks enthielt, obwohl es auch Nicht-Album-Tracks gab: Die Single-Version von Better Things war etwas länger als die Albumversion (zuvor auf der Come Dancing with The Kinks-Compilation enthalten) und die britische B-Seite von Better Things war ein Nicht-Album-Track, Massive Reductions, der sich von der Version des 1984er Albums Word of Mouth der Band unterschied.
