Frullanische Integrale
Als frullanische Integrale werden uneigentliche Integrale vom Typ
- <math>\int\limits_0^{\infty}\frac{f(ax)-f(bx)}{x}\,{\rm d}x</math>
bezeichnet. Sie wurden erstmals 1821 von Giuliano Frullani in einem Brief erwähnt und 1828 veröffentlicht. Es gilt der folgende Satz:
Sei <math>f(x)</math> eine für <math>x\ge0</math> stetige Funktion mit <math>A:=f(0)</math> und dem endlichen Grenzwert <math>B:=\lim_{x\to\infty} f(x)</math>, dann gilt
- <math>\int\limits_0^{\infty}\frac{f(ax)-f(bx)}{x}\,{\rm d}x = (A-B)\ln\frac{b}{a}</math>.
Wichtige Beispiele ergeben sich für <math>f(x)=e^{-x}\ </math> bzw. <math>f(x)=\arctan x\ </math> mit <math>a,b>0</math>:
- <math>\int\limits_0^{\infty}\frac{e^{-ax}-e^{-bx}}{x}\,{\rm d}x = \ln\frac{b}{a}</math>
- <math>\int\limits_0^{\infty}\frac{\arctan(ax) - \arctan(bx)}{x}\,{\rm d}x = \frac{\pi}2 \ln\frac{a}{b}</math>
