Die '''NHL-Saison 1975/76''' war die 59. Spielzeit in der [[National Hockey League]]. 18 Teams spielten jeweils 80 Spiele. Den [[Stanley Cup]] gewannen die [[Canadiens de Montréal]] nach einem 4:0-Erfolg in der Finalserie gegen die [[Philadelphia Flyers]]. [[Phil Esposito]] wechselte von Boston zu den Rangers, war dort aber weit weniger erfolgreich als [[Jean Ratelle]], der im Gegenzug zu den Bruins gekommen war. Die zunehmende Brutalität auf dem Eis beschäftigte während dieser Saison viermal die Gerichte, unter anderem wurden vier Spieler der Flyers nach einem [[Play-off]]-Spiel in Toronto angeklagt. Für schönere Schlagzeilen sorgte Torontos [[Darryl Sittler]], der bei einem 11:4-Sieg mit sechs Toren und vier [[Assist]]s bis heute unerreichte zehn Punkte in einem Spiel schaffte. In den Play-offs erzielte er fünf Tore in einem Spiel. Bisher hatten dies nur zwei Spieler geschafft, in dieser Saison gelang dies auch noch [[Reggie Leach]].
