Durch Latheron führt mit der [[A9 road|A9]] die bedeutendste Fernverkehrsstraße der schottischen [[Highlands]]. Diese knickt dort nach Norden in Richtung [[Thurso]] ab. An diesem Abzweig beginnt die [[A99 road|A99]], die weiter der Küste folgend über Wick schließlich [[John o’ Groats]] erreicht.<br />

Das Caithness Broch Project plant nahe Latheron den Neubau eines [[Broch (Turm)|Brochs]]. Brochs wurden zwischen 400 v. Chr. und 100 n. Chr. von kaledonischen Stämmen errichtet. In Caithness sind etwa 200 Stück, mehr als in jeder anderen Region Schottlands erhalten. Die bis 13 Meter hohen Steintürme sind die höchsten prähistorischen Bauwerke der Britischen Inseln.<br />
