Werdegang

McCoy wurde als Sohn eines Haitianers geboren. Seine Mutter ist irischer, philippinischer und indianischer Abstammung.<ref>Matt Diehl: Gym Class Heroes: High Rollers auf spin.com vom 2. September 2008.</ref> Er wuchs in Geneva auf. An der High School lernte er 1997 im Sportunterricht seinen späteren Bandkollegen Matt McGinley kennen. Die beiden begannen mit anderen Musik zu machen.
